This photo of the Lincoln Memorial was taken from the observation tower in Washington DC's Old Post Office Building. Behind and to the left of the building is the Memorial Bridge, which spans the Potomac River and connects Washington, DC to Arlington, VA. Many of the tombstones at the Arlington National Military Cemetery are visible on the Virginia hilllside.

I took this photo on a dreary winter day in 2006. The sky was bland, the trees were bare and gray - there wasn't much color to be had at that time. This same shot in summer would be a different matter. Of course, then it would be more difficult to see the cemetery on the hill.
