This section of the American National Military Cemetery at the Gettysburg Battlefield contains the remains of unidentified soldiers who died there. The battle at Gettysburg, which lasted three days, was one of the most significant battles of the American Civil War. Approximately 50,000 men were wounded and killed during the battle.
